Inside Reconnective Life

‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍Pizza, More Pizza,‍‍‍ and then Ice Cream‍‍‍

What's better than pizza for your birthday? More pizza and ice cream! That's what Ro's birthday party looked like, when the first pizza Martin ordered did not arrive, then had to order a second one. But by then, the first one did turn up after all.

‍‍‍Cecilia put together the magnificent ice cream and fixings buffet.

Rossella generously volunteered to "clean" the ice cream ‍‍‍serving spoons...

Cecilia, who loves to visit S‍‍‍anta Monica in the weekends, found herself in the midst of a celebration of sorts: an outdoor expo of the services the city of Los Angeles offers. Female mariachis, trash collectors, utility pole climbers and more. Who knew recycling bin robots existed? ;-)

‍‍‍Sunday in Santa Mo‍‍‍nica‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍

"Mom, can I take him home with me?!?"

‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍As I've mentioned bef‍‍‍‍‍‍ore, we get a choice of food on our birthdays @TheReconnection. But today we were able to have the best of both worlds: although I had chosen pizza for my birthday, cake was also on hand!  Well, cake donuts instead of cake... A tasty substitution!!

‍‍‍Pizza Party! (With A Side of Donuts)‍‍‍

‍‍‍Birthdays Fairy‍‍‍ Godmother Cecilia not only organizes the festivities, she also hand decors doors and desks for each celebration. Her donut idea was pure genius!

And Ro stepped in and chose the best pizza place ever! Inspired teamwork!

‍‍‍Best Popcorn in the ‍‍‍World (Part 3)

‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍"POPCORN IS A FOOD GROUP!"

Or it should be, according to Eric.

‍‍‍The popcorn is finally ready - and Eric is ready to share his secret ingredient! BTW, this is actually, originally‍‍‍, Jillian's recipe - Eric has simply perfected it to a sublime level!‍‍‍

‍‍‍It's Another Birthday ‍‍‍Cluster!

We just LOVE to celebrate birthdays around here - well, actually, we love to celebrate‍‍‍ anything we can celebrate ;-) As we've mentioned, we can get anything we want for our birthdays, and the selection more often than not falls to either cake or pizza. Martin, our birthday boy on 9/21, chose a delish key lime cheesecake....‍‍

...And KC, the man who had his cake (Martin's) and ate it too (his insanely chocolaty all-ch‍‍‍ocolate fudge birthday cake).

Canadian RH practitioner and mentor Donna Costa chipp‍‍‍ed ‍‍‍in with support and yummy food ideas for maple syrup.

And so it was decided that I would bake the maple syrup pie. With gusto, input from Diane Buteau and Donna Costa, and plenty of butter, I set out on this grand culinary adventure! But, as they say, the proof is in the pudding, so I will not know if it tastes good until someone digs in...

‍‍‍Best Popcorn in the World (Part‍‍‍ 2)‍‍‍‍‍‍

Eric and Jillian show us how to make the best popcorn ever, and even what it looks like when you do not use a lid while popping your corn :-)

Sometimes we talk weather

‍‍‍Then‍‍‍ dress‍‍‍ our bitmojis.

Listen to Jaden

And munch on popcorn;

But when we're all together

We get rather silly...

We grab the ukelele

and go for a run!

‍‍‍Because. Uk‍‍‍elele

It's Monday, the morning after the L.A. RCPP, and Cecilia and I went to the Central Market (down the street from the Millenium Biltmore). After wandering around and taking in the delicious smells‍‍‍ coming from the food stalls we settled on Valerie's for breakfast. On our way back we discovered some interesting things...

Gallop‍‍‍ing horses mural on Spring St.

Runaway monke‍‍‍ys and Richie, the Clown Barber! (Yup, that is an all-face tattoo...)

Our Downtown Adventure‍‍‍!‍‍‍

Bagels are Monday's staple at our office - and elsewhere, as you can tell from Eric and Jillian's quest for bagels in Montréal!‍‍‍ R‍‍‍a‍‍‍chel usually volunteers and brings us an assortment from Einstein's Bros.

‍‍‍‍‍‍Rachel  loves her French Toast, Ashley prefers the Everything.  Janet  beelines for the Pretzel, and KC cannot ‍‍‍resis‍‍‍t the Chocolate Chip.

‍‍‍Cecilia prefers Onion, but Asiago will do; Martin gets his Princess Leia on with the Cinnamon, and I li‍‍‍ke the Whole Wheat.‍‍‍‍‍‍

‍‍‍Decisions, decisions! They're ‍‍‍all so yummy!

Bagel Ru‍‍‍n!!

‍‍‍Our Girls of Summer Rachel and Ashley celebrated their birthdays a few days‍‍‍ ago - and we had our cake and ate it times two!

Cake and pizza are our top faves around here, see if you can guess what Eric chooses for his birthday? Take the poll!

Rossella, who hails from Italy, celebrated her fairytale we‍‍‍d‍‍‍ding in her hometown Naples. Bellisima!!

In the meantime, Janet took in the sights and visited around the city.‍‍‍ Martina, Ro's sister, served as guide.

‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍You cannot do Naples without having pizza! Yup, this is the city that gave birth to that delish mozzarella, tomato sauce and dough pie! ‍‍‍Pizza is favored by the entire Reconnection crew!

‍‍‍‍‍‍A W‍‍‍edding in Italy...

(And a Little Sightseeing)‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍

This is‍‍‍ How We Celebrate at the Office

‍‍‍Granted, any excuse is a good excuse to try out good food, but since Rossella is off to Italy to get married, and Ashley and Rachel have birthdays coming up in August it was decided we would all celebrate in a grand style. Ashle‍‍‍y chose the place, Gracias Madre, a fantástico vegan restaurant that pleased even the meat eaters amongst us. Best item: the chips and guacamole are perfection!

Potato ta‍‍‍co and tamal

Squash quesadilla and cauliflower with vegan "queso"

Guacamole and chips!! Yum!!

‍‍‍‍‍‍Two (Al‍‍‍most) Birthdays and a Wedding

(And, ‍‍‍yes, music and some fried stuff too...)

A Weekend of Unicorns...‍‍‍

‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍We also tasted the "award-winning, world-famous" fi‍‍‍reh‍‍‍ouse vegetarian and non-vegetarian chilis, served by real firemen!

So Cecilia says "The farmer's market tasting thing is happening tonight! WHO WANTS TO COME?‍‍‍' And we said, "why not?"

Our faves were the spicy hot Mexican corn dish (vegetarian) from La Lotería, and the sausage/hot dog from Mixologist.

G‍‍‍oing with the Flow!

(And it's almost Friday ! :-) Left to right - back row: Kevin, KC, Martin, Gigi, Rach‍‍‍el, Janet, Rossella. Left to right - front row: Ana, Arielle, Cecilia and Ashley.

End of the Day at the O‍‍‍‍‍‍ffice!

It was a spur of the moment thing - we had‍‍‍ brought some pumpkins in to the office to carve for Halloween or to turn into pies (yes, a pumpkin pie is in the works, we are very partial to pie) when we saw the opportunity for some silliness...

Halloween "Magic‍‍‍" Pumpkin

After our Halloween pumpkin adventure we all returned to our everyday selves... Except for Ro, who somehow has developed a taste for larch trees and shrubbery...

"Go Ashley!" - A F‍‍‍unny Outta‍‍‍ke from our RCPP Webinar‍‍‍‍‍‍

‍‍‍WEBINAR DAY! Eric hosted our latest webinar on August 2 and, with Cecilia Samms and Adam Teipel, they discussed what the Reconnection is. It was an eye opener, and a lot of fun as well - one of the questions viewers sent was "can we use frequencies to communicate with extraterrestrials?" Eric's answe‍‍‍r was priceless, and I think that, for some, unexpected. If you'd like to watch the webinar contact Ashley (go Ashley!:))) ([email protected])

Eric was joined by Cecilia ‍‍‍Samms and Adam Teipel.

‍‍‍The Best Popcorn in the Worl‍‍‍d!

By overwhelming demand, everyone wants to know Eric's famous popcorn recipe, so we went one better and had him do it on camera!

In this first part of four webisodes, Eric shows us the basics of the recipe, while Jillian "heats" things up a little :-)

What?!? Popping kernel‍‍‍s without a lid?!?

‍‍‍Th‍‍‍‍‍‍e Pie Saga - Part 3

The Pie Can Fly!

9-19-2017‍‍‍ • Los Angeles, CA

‍‍‍Looks like our French Canadian Maple Syrup Pie has been cleared to fly! Let's see if it passes the taste test with our students at the training program in Montréal.

Good-bye, pie! Adieu!‍‍‍

‍‍‍The Pie Saga -‍‍‍‍‍‍ Part 4

The Pie Saga - P‍‍‍art 4

We‍‍‍'re Bringing Pie, Montréal!"

‍‍‍Jillian took a good look at tha‍‍‍t can of maple syrup they brought in from their recent trip to Québec, went online, and found the perfect French Canadian Maple Syrup pie recipe for it.

All I'm sayin' is, if I'm baking this masterpiece I'm having first dibs...

‍‍‍Québeçois Maple Syrup? Let the Good Ti‍‍‍mes Flow!

Eric and Jillian returned from their Québec adventures super excited and maybe a tad over-caffeinated (but that's another story, you can check out our romance with coffee ‍‍‍-coming soon!‍‍‍‍‍‍).

They also brought back a can of pure Montréal maple syrup, and at some point between LAX and our office Jillian hatched a  plan for the liquid gold...

‍‍‍"Hmmm... I'm wondering who's baking this maple syrup pie..."‍‍‍‍‍‍

It's Eric's Bi‍‍‍rthday!

Sometime in Nov‍‍‍ember :-)

Eric's birthday fun  -  some dinner, some music, and the sparks were flyin'! We'll just have to do it all over again when we return to L.A. ;-)

Eric and I enjoyed the live music very much., so I recorded a l‍‍‍ittle of it.Watch the clip here.‍‍‍

First stop: the IANDS Conference in Colorado.

(Well, after we get some coffee first, of course!)‍‍‍

On Our W‍‍‍ay to Colorado!

And we are off to Colorado! We'll be participating at the IANDS Conference, and doing presentations throughout Denver.

But first, we needed a quick pick-me -up at the airport...

Or "Popcorn and the World that I Want"

We were the happy recipients of Eric's awesome popcorn, and we had an extra interesting topping, er, I mean, topic, to go with it: Jillian asked each of us whether we would invest in the world we are in or in the world we want.

I say invest in the future and let's make sure we have popcorn!!

Best Popcorn in the World! - Part 4

More November Cake Fun!‍‍‍

It's Arielle's birthday, and we had planned a cake break for ‍‍‍h‍‍‍er today when Jillian and Eric arrived with two pumpkin cheesecakes...

Let's face it, what's better than a birthday cake?

THREE birthday cakes!!

Do It Yourself Snow Effect

‍‍‍When Ro discovered that her chenille sweater has a tendency to shed we ‍‍‍couldn't resist! Cecilia provided the music soundtrack.Move over, movie magic! We can do our own snow effects in house!

There are many interesting places to stop at when driving between Los Angeles and Las Vegas. One of my fave "pit stops" is the Ci‍‍‍ma Mining Company, just by the Cima exit.

Watch out for the hard working miners out front!!

Men at Work

Their collection of strange flavored soda is pretty amazing...

We're spending this Thanksgiving with my entire family in Chicago, many of whom I haven't seen in many years. My son Sid is joining us for this adventure!

And to sweeten things up, Ana baked us a chocolate pumpkin pie.

You have no idea how hard it's been to keep Dr. Pearl away from that pie...

On Our Way to C‍‍‍hicago

While relaxing with family over the Thanksgiving holiday Jillian got "bi‍‍‍tten" by the onewheel skateboarding bug‍‍‍.

A few quick lessons from her nephews and she was off to the races - quite literally!

Of course, Jillian quickly outgrew the back road skating, so they all piled up in the car and drove to a skate ring‍k, Insane Asylum, the local mecca for skateboarders.

Go Jilian go!

Skateboarding Bug!

Eric takes in the vari‍‍‍ous skateboard designs at the rink. Ah, decisions, decisions...

Office life just got a little more fun with our newest friend, Theodore the Sharpei puppy!

This sweet little thing came to visit us yesterday and gifted us with a moment of fun - a much appreciated break from for our RH Global Awareness Week preparations. He's so adorable he has his own Instagram username:

Seriously, what can be sweeter than puppy kisses?

Theodore the Pup‍‍‍py

We all need a sounding board from time to time, and Eric is no exception. It seems he's found the perfect pal for it!

Eric's New Friend

We're getting our holiday spirit on with some great office moments - and nothing says "holidays" like an ugly sweater! So, instead of wearing one we decided to make 'em and eat 'em.

Except that they turned out so good (er, I mean, ugly) that we just had to have help on voting on which one is the winner.

Take a moment to let us know which one you think is the ugliest!

Ugly Sw‍‍‍eater Cookie Contest!

"They might be ugly but they sure look t‍‍‍asty to me!"    - Eric

And the winner is... #5 The Spo‍‍‍rts Fan Turtleneck!

Jag is the artist responsible for this beauty!

Meet ALL the ‍‍‍artists!

For all we know, Cecilia made up the "White Santa" game - we have to wear silly hats, ‍‍‍grab a mystery gift from the table or steal someone else's.

Regardless of whether we stuck to the rules or not, a great time was had by all.

Merry Christmas everyone!

‍‍‍Who Stole My Gift?!?!

Are salt lamps "salty"? Eric might‍‍‍ still try to find out...
